Sanctuary Chichele Presidential Lodge
Chichele Presidential Lodge was built in the 1970's for Dr Kenneth Kaunda, the first democratically elected president of Zambia. Given his keen interest in wildlife, it's no wonder Kaunda chose this location for his private retreat in the South Laungwa. The game viewing in this park is considered to be some of the best in Africa, and the Lodge's unique hilltop position affords incredible views over the lush valley below, stretching as far as the Luangwa River.
The lodges original colonial style has been maintained with a grand dining room and large verandah wrapping around the main lodge allowing for panoramic views.
Each of the ten suites comes complete with a four-posted bed, air conditioning, en-suite bathroom and private verandah. In keeping with the the rest of Sanctuary Presidential Lodge, the suites are decorated in an understated style that harks back to the lodge's past.
