Mukambi Plains Camp - Busanga Plains

Set on a small palm tree island in the middle of the vast Busanga Plains, Mukambi Plains camp is a personal and intimate bush camp. The most northerly and remote camp in the Kafue, it is open from 1st July until the first week of November, due to the annual flooding of the plains.

The main dining area is set on a raised wooden deck with an expansive thatch roof. A small fireplace on the end of the wooden deck is where the evenings are spent warming up and telling stories of the days events. Power is limited but solar lights and paraffin lamps are provided in the tents.

Accommodation is in 4 en-suite tents. These all have open-air bathrooms with showers. All the tents look out over the Busanga plains and guests can sit outside their tent and enjoy the vast open spaces, and watch the animals as they pass by.

Game drives and fabulous walking safaris conducted by professional guides afford guests the chance to see all the available wildlife.

Transfers from Mukambi Safari Lodge to Mukambi Plains Camp through the park take approximately 6 hours and are operated by Mukambi Safairs. Alternatively an aircraft can be chartered to fly guests into camp.
